Anne is a writer, scientist, and musician.
She has a Masters in Neuroscience from Birkbeck University and a Masters in Biomedical Research from Imperial College London where she won the Galen Award for outstanding research. She’s spent years researching and interviewing other researchers and individuals to study the science of love and loss, and regularly speaks on the topic of heartbreak and breakup. Anne is a scientific director and medical editor, working across many therapeutic areas, from neurology to oncology to rare diseases.
Her writings have been shortlisted in the John Gardner Memorial Prize (Harpur Palate) and the Barry Hannah Prize in Fiction (Yalobusha Review); they have been published in North Dakota Quarterly, New Plains Review, Southword, and many other journals.
Anne is also a musician and producer. Her compositions have been performed at the Royal Opera House London Linbury Theatre and toured the UK. She is the producer and singer/songwriter of serrated jazz/pop band Dance Lessons which has been called "direct, and utterly alternative [...] driven forward by unrelenting creativity" [Clash] and "[oozing] confidence" [BBC1 Radio].
