Anne is a writer, science researcher & communicator, and a musician. Her stories have been selected as semi-finalist in the John Gardner Memorial Prize (Harpur Palate) and as a finalist in the Barry Hannah Prize in Fiction (Yalobusha Review). She has a Masters in Biomedical Research from Imperial College London where she won the Galen Award and a Masters in Neuroscience from Birkbeck University as well as Postgraduate Certificate in Psychology. She’s spent years researching and interviewing others on the science of love, loss, and heartbreak, and regularly speaks on the topic. Anne is a scientific director and medical editor, working across many therapeutic areas, from neurology to oncology to rare diseases.
Before adding science to her list of things she loves, Anne spent many years working as a musician and producer. Her compositions have been performed at the Royal Opera House London Linbury Theatre and toured the UK. She is the producer and singer/songwriter of serrated jazz/pop band Dance Lessons which has been called "direct, and utterly alternative [...] driven forward by unrelenting creativity" [Clash] and "[oozing] confidence" [BBC1 Radio].
